Our immersive theatre workshop for GCSE and A-Level students introduces the concept of immersive and playable theatre to students who are interested in developing their knowledge of drama, theatre, interactive games and live events.

This workshop focuses on the constructs of immersive theatre. The theme of the piece that is developed is almost incidental in that the idea of the workshop is to allow participants to experience the devising and development stages of creating immersive theatre. This workshop also takes the opportunity to do a practitioner study on Punchdrunk. The stand out company in immersive theatre that came out of London but is now internationally renowned. • A knowledge and understanding of what Immersive Theatre is
• The ability to reference an established Immersive Theatre company and their principles
• An insight into the complex planning stages of an Immersive Theatre show
• Understanding that the audience and their experience need to be considered at every stage of planning
• Developing character and narrative
• Weaving gaming mechanics into theatre.
